Sukha started as twelve mats on a Tuesday night in a building that still smelt of ink. Most of what we believe was decided in that first year: small rooms, real teachers, tea after.
Mara rents the back room of a closed printworks on Rua da Esperança. Tuesday and Thursday nights, twelve mats, a kettle.
Inês joins from the physio clinic upstairs. Six reformers, and a Foundations series every month since.
The long spring. Classes move to the roof and the courtyard
The wall to the front room comes down. Nobody leaves quickly anymore.
The whole ground floor. Oak, east light, a yin room with no clock in it.
Five teachers, thirty-four classes a week, and a mat by the window with your name on it.
